Upper Moreton Farm is a 100 acre natural grassland beef and sheep farm in the beautiful countryside of Wolseley Bridge, Staffordshire, approximately two miles from Cannock Chase an area of outstanding natural beauty. The farm has been in the Carney family ownership for over fifty years.
As the name suggests the farm is on the top of a gently sloping valley, the landscape includes native grasslands, hay meadows, small copses, several wildlife ponds, fishing pools and well established broad-leaved trees namely ash and oak.
In 2009 the farm entered into a ten year agreement with Natural England to host free educational access visits for schools and groups. Up to December 2016 over 308 visits have been completed, with well over 750 individuals from all over Staffordshire and beyond benefitting from a rural experience in the countryside.
In 2010 part of the farm became a Care Farm, and in 2015 the Community Interest Company known as Upper Moreton Rural Activities was created.
Upper Moreton Rural Activities offers rural day opportunities for individuals who have a learning disability/difficulty and are in receipt of a direct payment or personal budget. It is also able to offer free courses that promote health and well-being for individuals who have a mental health need and/or learning disability and meet the course criteria.
